ABOUT ME
I am an NCTJ accredited journalist with a passion for connecting people through storytelling. My background in news production has shaped me into a curious and confident contributor, able to pose the right questions and offer insightful solutions to any project I am working on. Through my experience in creating marketing content, I have also been able to further develop my skills in interviewing, editing and research.
My inquisitive nature has shaped much of my work, spurring me towards topics often overlooked by mainstream media. Working with marginalised groups led me to build strong relationships within the Deaf community, and so I decided to create a multimedia article on British Sign Language. Human connection is the key to good storytelling, and thanks to the unguarded and honest narrative of my contributors, the piece won Best Online Feature at the CBJ News Awards. Available here: British Sign Language
My current role as a Bid Co-ordinator entails crafting detailed and compliant responses at industry standard. However, I am looking for work in content writing and video editing, as part of a project or as a full-time role.

TV
Filming and editing footage are some of my favourite aspects of content creation. Here are some of the TV packages I have created for regional broadcast, coupled with the links that I scripted to introduce them.
The Nottingham Narrowboat Project
World Cup
Sailing is set to continue for boats Megan and Tinks, after a large cash injection to the Nottingham Narrow Boat Project. To hear how the project will use the £230,000 sum, CBJ's Frankie McCann has more.
Drinking is a big part of football culture for us Brits. Whether it’s going down to your local or opening a cold one at home, for many fans it's part of the fun. But, one legal expert is worried about a rise in drinking related crimes during the world cup. CBJ's Frankie McCann has more.
Hear Me Out
This feature is a short documentary offering an insight into the challenges faced by the deaf community; from the demise of deaf clubs to current BSL provision for deaf children.
Online
Another area of journalism I have chosen to specialise in is writing for online. Below are two examples of my published work.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Jan - July 2023
Multimedia Journalist - Wempower
Wempower is an online organisation that aims to amplify the voices of women in the media, to create a better representation of gender issues.
Their values fit well with my own and the role granted me the chance to learn many new industry skills, and publish my own work on the company website.
In this role I was responsible for:
-
Sourcing and interviewing contributors to use in articles published on the website
-
Creating video content from interview footage to tease launch of new articles on social media accounts
-
Designing and writing weekly newsletters that fit the company’s ethos
It was also a wonderful chance to apply my skills in news production to a professional setting.
